You've recently decided to host a party for 14 of your closest
friends to celebrate that recent promotion, or your hole in one,
or your grandkid's graduation from elementary school, and all
of a sudden, it is 5 pm on the evening of the event.  The roast
isn't in the oven yet, you're up to your elbows in apples making
a pie, the asparagus is still lounging in the refrigerator, the
